This foundational course introduces aspiring members to the Red Cross movement. Participants learn about the history, principles, and emblems of the Red Cross. The YVFC also instills the values of volunteerism and public service, preparing youth for active involvement in humanitarian activities and leadership roles within the organization.
The YVOM is the initial step in the Leadership Development Program, providing a comprehensive overview of the Red Cross. It covers the history of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, its founders, the seven fundamental principles, and the RCY pledge. This orientation prepares volunteers for deeper engagement with the organization's mission.
A youth-led initiative to promote voluntary blood donation, Pledge 25 encourages young people aged 18 to 25 to commit to donating blood regularly. This program plays a crucial role in ensuring a stable and safe blood supply for those in need, fostering a generation of lifelong blood donors.
This educational program aims to provide factual information about HIV/AIDS and substance abuse prevention. It equips young people with the knowledge to make informed decisions, reduce their risks, and act as peer educators in their communities, promoting healthy lifestyles and behaviors.
Also known as the law of armed conflict, this program educates youth on the rules that aim to limit the effects of armed conflict for humanitarian reasons.[5] Participants learn about the Geneva Conventions and the protection of civilians, prisoners of war, and other non-combatants, fostering respect for human dignity in times of war.
Y-Adapt is an interactive, game-based curriculum that educates and inspires young people to take practical action against climate change in their communities. Through a series of engaging modules, participants learn about climate impacts and work together to design and implement local adaptation projects, empowering them as agents of change.
